The land of Hygre has been plunged into darkness the great kings of yester year perished and now evil barons and kings rule the land. With their advisors and oracles to guide them to crush any rebellion. But one rebel camp survives and one morning as the horns of battle sound and the evil kings ride to destroy the last surviving humans. (The rest of the population of Hygre are magical creatures) Now the camp is doomed but one day just a week before some travelling Mages turn up to save the humans from their fate.

Shadon carried his staff in his right hand as he climbed over the peak of the mountain

Bobella sighed contentedly before she started moving again. "This place is nice" she thought happily to herself. Her senses were well tuned and she could smell the pollen in the flowers and hear the buzz of the honeybee as it retrieved the pollen. The Sun was out, for once, and it heated the land, making her feel at peace.

Shadon closed his eyes and heard the sound of children playing, he waved his staff a fraction and produced many beautiful white lotuses which floated gently down onto the surface of Guilded Lake, he sat by the side of Guilded Lake in the shade of an oak tree, he then pulled his strange hat's brim firmly over his eyes

Midori padded silently across a field, her eyes fixed firmly on the other side of it. She held a small flower tightly, a frown slowly spreading across her face.

Shadon looked up and saw Midori heading in his general direction. He smiled under his mage hat and ran a hand on the glimmering lake's surface that was in the field.

Midori walked over to Shadon and sat down next to him, staring into the lake. She was silent for a moment, then murmured a simple, "Hello."
She placed the flower she had been holding on the lake and watched it.

Shadon smiled at this and used a small amount of power to make the flower flourish further and watched as the breeze carried the flower across the lake's surface "It's so very beautiful here, you wouldn't be aware of the war being fought even at this moment," Shadon sighed and lowered his gaze. His family had been lost as they fled to the last camp for magi, wiccans and other magical beings.

"If only everywhere was as beautiful and calm as here." Midori sighed and stared at the flower. It slowly withered up and seemed to gain weight, for it suddenly sank into the depths of the lakes.

SHadon smiled grimly, "It is a war after all," He looked down sadly a shadow from his hat falling across his eyes covering up the emotion they showed

Midori glanced at Shadon for a moment, then returned her gaze to the lake. She began to plait a piece of her hair, adding flowers in at random points.

Shadon held out a hand and with a golden light a single red rose appeared without the thorns and put it in Midori's hair. Shadon gave her a small smile

Midori smiled back, then picked up a handful of leaves. She stared at them, then began to murmur something her mum had told her many times.
"With these leaves I blow away my fears and sadness."
She blew on the leaves lightly and they twirled into the air, dancing through the air.
"With these flowers I tie in my hopes and joy.
This is a blessing of love, to over-write the hate,
This is a blessing of hope, to over-write the fear,
This is a blessing from me to you."
Midori then nodded slightly and several flowers appeared in Shadons hair and leaves drifted around his head, then spiralled into the sky.

Shadon smiled and handed midori a necklace, he then whispered in the ancient language of making "Hoeg Gars Gret Haser," He handed it to her and it glowed brightly and formed into a silver heart with several silver drops running of it frozen.
"Protection, from me to you," Shadon simply stated and looked across into the mountains and the beauty of the scenery

Midori nodded, smiled and put it on, "Thank you." She hugged him lightly and stood up, walking back into the field.

Shadon gazed up and watched Midori leave. He then tapped his staff twice and a blue glowing light appeared, with several figures that could be made out of the murky light. A large man with a scar, a small man with a scowl on his face and a well dressed man with a tuxedo and black tie. The scarred man and the midget both saluted and said "General Shadon, Sir!" whereas the Sharp dressed man said nothing. Shadon's black face contorted to show anger "Do not call me that! I am not a man of war gentlemen, I lead you because I have to in order to free the people of Hygre,"

Midori closed her eyes and let the breeze tangle her hair and blow out a couple of the flowers. She sighed softly and began to spin around, spreading her arms out and tipping her head back. She opened her eyes slowly and started to laugh, feeling rather content at just being alive.

(Yeah, sure.)

Shadon nodded at the three men and said one haunting phrase "You know what to do," Then with one word, the word of ending the ground shook and caused the room to collapse in the room on the blue light. The man in the tuxedo, cut and bleeding dragged himself from the rubble and spat at Shadon's image and said "Curse you Shadon De Brogie, Cuas," And with that he died. Shadon cancelled the light staring grimly at the floor and sighed. It was a war after all
